Using the blog, my learning journey thus far
Owning and designing a blog is a new experience for me. Website design is something completely new, and for me the relative ease of making a website on WordPress was very surprising. Through my many blog posts, I’ve gotten comfortable with uploading media, as this has been a key component of most of my posts. Finding pictures and videos, and throwing everything together in a coherent post has been a very enjoyable component of blogging. The most challenging aspect I’ve found is correctly attributing the media to the original creator. In this course, we’ve gotten incredible information from experts such as Cable Green, a director of education at Creative Commons licensing, where he talked about the importance of copyright, and how to find images we can legally use. Embedding hyper links was actually quite a bit easier than I first thought it would be, and I find adds quite a bit in terms of making the information accessible and reliable to readers. I still have a few more posts to do, and will try to implement as many of the techniques we’ve learned so far to make my posts as interesting and engaging as possible.
